# XI Protocol ($XI)

The Xi Protocol token utilizes distributed ledger technology and is particularly notable for its use of space infrastructure as a platform. Its primary functions include representing visual data in space and reporting physical data, making it a unique addition to the crypto landscape focused on leveraging space-based technologies.

The XI Protocol is advancing the interaction with space infrastructure through Web3-connected systems. It aims to establish an interplanetary decentralized platform, incentivizing outsourced truth predictions and participating in new economic models for questions and answers through a system called Metaoracles. This system allows for asking and providing answers processed through cascade computations. The protocol also includes a space advertising project, utilizing space hardware display screens for pixel art and non-obtrusive advertising in Cubesats orbiting Earth and the Moon, with a variety of tokens used for various aspects of advertisement control and display.

The XI Protocol is connected to the DOGE-1 mission, which is the first-ever cryptocurrency-funded spacecraft launch, specifically funded entirely with Dogecoin. The DOGE-1 is a CubeSat satellite set to be carried into space by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Once in lunar orbit, it will start gathering lunar-spatial data using its onboard sensors and utilizing the XI Protocol. This protocol enables the satellite to connect with the distributed ledger technology on Earth, making it an integral part of the mission and highlighting a significant application of cryptocurrencies in space missions.
